COCONUT CHARCOAL

100 percent coconut shell charcoal briquettes, pressed and kiln dried. Low ash, low moisture, no chemical binders beyond food grade starch.

Coconut shell charcoal from Indonesia

Coconut shell is denser than most hardwood, which is the whole reason this product exists. Charred and pressed, it burns longer per kilogram, produces less ash and gives off less smoke than wood charcoal. For a restaurant running a grill all evening, or a lounge turning over hookah bowls, that difference shows up directly in cost per hour and in what the customer tastes.

We manufacture 100 percent coconut shell charcoal in Indonesia, pressed and kiln dried, bound with food grade starch and nothing else. We supply importers, distributors, charcoal retailers, hookah brands and buyers developing their own label.

Two grades

GradeShapesPackingBought by
BBQ gradeHexagon briquette or natural coconut shellRetail 1 kg boxes, bulk 10 / 15 / 20 kg PE-lined master cartonsRestaurants, grill houses, charcoal retailers, retail brands
Shisha gradeBlock or hexagon cubeRetail 1 kg boxes of 64 to 72 cubes, bulk 10 to 20 kg PE-lined master cartonsShisha lounges, hookah retailers, wholesalers, private label brands

Hexagon briquettes are the usual choice where consistent sizing matters for stacking and burn control. Natural coconut shell pieces appeal to buyers selling on a premium or artisanal positioning. Shisha cubes are sized so a standard bowl takes a predictable number of pieces, which is what lounge operators cost their pricing against.

Specification

  • Material: 100 percent coconut shell, no wood filler.
  • Ash content: under 2.5 percent.
  • Moisture: under 5 percent.
  • Burn time: 1.5 to 2 hours or more depending on shape and airflow.
  • Binder: food grade starch only.
  • Odour and taste: neutral, which is the requirement for shisha use.

Low ash matters more than most buyers expect. Ash smothers airflow, shortens usable burn and leaves the customer cleaning more. It is the specification worth checking first when you compare quotations from different suppliers.

Specifying an order: tell us the grade, the shape, the piece size, retail or bulk packing, whether you want your own branding, the quantity and the destination port. That is enough for a firm quotation.

Packaging and private label

Retail 1 kg boxes and bulk master cartons can both be printed under your own brand. You supply artwork or we develop it with you, printing is arranged with our print vendor, and production starts once packaging is ready. Printing and packaging are invoiced 100 percent in advance, separately from the product itself.

Bulk cartons are PE lined, which protects the moisture specification through ocean freight and storage. See OEM and private label for the full process.

Ordering and export

  • Minimum order: 1 x 20ft container. A 40ft high cube is usually better value per unit.
  • Lead time: up to 2 weeks after order confirmation, plus printing time where custom packaging is involved.
  • Incoterms: FOB or CIF preferred, EXW also supported.
  • Loading port: Surabaya, Indonesia.
  • Container quantity: confirmed at quotation, since destination road weight limits vary.

Payment terms: 50 percent deposit on order confirmation and 50 percent balance against bill of lading. Letter of credit at sight is available to returning customers only. Printing and packaging are 100 percent in advance.

Shipments leave with a certificate of origin and a PEB export declaration. Fumigation and ISPM 15 compliant packaging are available where the destination requires it.

Send us your requirement and we will quote. Samples are free and you cover the courier.

Common questions

What is the difference between BBQ grade and shisha grade?
The raw material is the same 100 percent coconut shell charcoal. The difference is shape, sizing and finish. BBQ grade comes as hexagon briquettes or natural coconut shell pieces sized for grilling. Shisha grade comes as pressed cubes, blocks or hexagon pieces sized for a hookah bowl, with tighter control on odour because it sits directly in the smoke path.
Why choose coconut shell charcoal over wood charcoal?
Density. Coconut shell is harder than most hardwood, so the charcoal burns longer per kilogram and produces less ash and less smoke. Our specification is ash under 2.5 percent, moisture under 5 percent and a burn time of 1.5 to 2 hours or more.
Do you make private label charcoal?
Yes. Retail 1 kg boxes and bulk master cartons can be printed under your own brand. You either supply artwork or we develop it with you. Printing is arranged with our print vendor and completed before production begins, and printing and packaging are paid 100 percent in advance.
What is your lead time for charcoal?
Up to 2 weeks after order confirmation, which is faster than our coir lines. If the order includes custom printed packaging, allow additional time for printing before production starts.
What binder do you use?
Food grade starch, and nothing beyond that. No chemical binders, which is what keeps odour low and prevents any chemical taste in shisha use.
